Phantom Liberty: Cyberpunk 2077’s DLC expansion announced

CD Projekt Red has revealed the first few details about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, slated for release in 2023 through a gameplay trailer. Launched at The Game Awards 2022, the trailer confirms Keanu Reeves‘s return. He will be reprising his role as the late rocker boy Johnny Silverhand. CDPR also revealed their newest Hollywood cast member, Idris Elba, in the trailer.

Solomon Reed, the character he will play in Cyberpunk 2077, will be played by the English actor. Reed is an FIA agent for the NUSA and will play a crucial role in the story. It will likely involve all sorts of political intrigue and skullduggery since it takes place in a new district of Night City.

This DLC will only be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, as well as PC. Therefore, last-gen consoles will not be able to play the new DLC. It has been confirmed that the DLC will not be free and the pricing has not yet been announced.

The game will be one of the most celebrated in the studio’s catalog. In terms of its status on Day 1, the Phantom Liberty will likely set the tone for how the game will be received going forward for CD Projekt Red. Furthermore, it may help the game appear much better in retrospect.

As far as Keanu’s return is concerned for the game franchise, it’s like his catchphrase in John Wick. “People keep asking if I’m back… Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back ” moment for fans if all goes right for CD Projekt with this expansion.
