As one of the world’s biggest entertainment companies, Ubisoft is remarkably platform-agnostic i.e, their games are available on every platform and console, including mobile and cloud – it was even a quick and steady partner in game streaming.
After several years of being off the Steam platform, it looks like Ubisoft is returning. In this regard, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may be a good choice.
Ubisoft Connect’s source code for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been updated and now contains the word ‘Steam.’ Specifically, it reads, ‘Internal Dev/QC – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla [STEAM]..’
The only news in response to this from Ubisoft’s part is based on a report by Insider Gaming, according to which Ubisoft has clarified by saying , “We don’t comment on rumors and speculation.“
Considering Ubisoft has been releasing its games on PC through Epic Games Store and its own launcher, Ubisoft’s return to Valve’s platform would be a big deal. The last Ubisoft Steam release was Trials Rising on February 26, 2019, nearly four years ago.
It’s interesting to note that although though the next Assassin’s Creed Mirage is slated for a PC release, it only has an Epic Games Store website and not a Steam one. From all these, let’s hope that Ubisoft will keep working with Epic Games and Steam in the future.
